What We’re All About
Pope Farms Produce and Garden Center is your one-stop, mom and pop shop when it comes to home grown produce and plants. We’re open Monday – Saturday 9 am – 6 pm, and Sundays 10 am – 4pm. Competitively priced against the big box stores, our passion for “local” pours into everything we do. We grow local, buy local, sell local, and in fact…we are locals! Northern Colorado is home to us and our customers feel like neighbors.
Not only can you pick up supplies for the season and tonight’s dinner, but when you come in to see us, you’ll be greeted with friendly faces, helping hands, and tips and tricks from owner and gardener extraordinaire, Susan Pope.
Susan is a Colorado Master Gardener, as designated by Colorado State University, and the voice behind our Green Thumb Gossip, a weekly blog where she shares her expertise on things like when to plant what, tricks of the trade, and how to make your yard the talk of the town. The Gossip also features Noelle’s (the garden gnome) Nook where you’ll find coupons, contests, pinterest projects and more! Subscribe to the Green Thumb Gossip to the right so you don’t miss a beat!
The store is open April through December. In the spring, you’ll find a complete garden center including trendy garden décor, a rainbow of roses, plants, shrubs, seeds, bulbs, potting soil and composts, as well as a small variety of early season produce. Throughout the summer and fall (June-November), a full selection of locally grown produce, including Western Slope fruit and Rocky Ford melons, is offered both at the store and at the farmer’s markets we participate in across the Front Range. Finally, when the snow starts to fall, we stock the freshest cut Christmas trees in town, along with wreaths, holiday décor, locally grown poinsettias, and gift baskets.
In addition, our staples available all year include our line of Colorado Country Kitchen canned goods, USA grown produce, Colorado’s Best Beef, Colorado Cherry Company ciders and juice, Village Pie Maker frozen fruit pies, Marlyce’s homemade noodles and butterballs, Clarks local honey, Fire Mountain jams and jellies, and our own frozen green chili.
